Windrunner is all teams favorite hero because:

-Versatile role - can be made carry, semi-carry, support
-Versatile skills - harrass, gank, push, defend, kill, support, escape
-Long stun (possible two heroes stun) with low cooldown (can be spammed)
-Lane control using powershot
-Can dodge physical damage including tower damage using 'windrunner' skill
-Can solo against trilane
-Focus fire can take down tower, roshan or hero very quick

*There may be different builds like taking windrunner level 1 against trilane and shackleshot at level 2, then maximum up powershot, but the basic idea is taking focus fire after all the skills. You may also take more level of windrunner first then shackleshot if you want.
